How to properly charge your mobile phone battery
There are many myths about the battery of your mobile phone : what we must do so that it does not break down, how you should charge the phone, how long you should wait between charges. But many of these myths are false and today we teach you how to properly charge the battery of your mobile phone so that it works perfectly.
Surely you have heard many times advice from people around you that tells you what to do or not to do but not everything they tell you is true and today we give you a series of tips to correctly charge the battery of your smartphone. If you see that these tricks are useless you can go to a technical service to help you know if there is a problem in your battery or even to replace it in case your phone turns off earlier than normal.
How to properly charge the battery
The first thing we have ever heard is that you have to let it download completely to be able to plug it in again. But it's not like that. You don't have to wait for it to be at 0% to connect it to the charger. In fact, the opposite is precisely what experts recommend: don't let it download to its fullest.
How to charge the mobile phone battery correctly. Tips for Ion / Lithium batteries
1. Avoid extreme temperatures.
Do not expose the battery to extreme hot and cold conditions, it could be damaged. Your device is designed to perform well in a wide range of temperatures, but the ideal is between 16 and 22 ° C. It is especially important not to expose the device to temperatures above 35 ° C, since the heat could permanently reduce the autonomy of the battery, that is, your device would not last as long on with each full charge. Use and keep Lithium Ion batteries at a moderate temperature as much as possible. Avoid very high or very low temperatures, or leave it where it can be in direct sunlight.
Damage can be more serious if you charge the device in a place with very high temperatures. Storing a battery in a very warm space can also damage it. Heat is our worst enemy. If you have been playing with your mobile, let it rest for a few minutes until its internal temperature drops.
If you use the device in a very cold environment (North Pole, on top of a mountain), you may notice that the battery lasts less since it costs more to charge. This situation is temporary: the battery will return to its usual capacity when you use the device again at a normal operating temperature.
2. Cleaning
Make sure that no dust or other dirt enters the battery area and especially contact areas. Check the copper connectors for good contact. Your battery will charge better and we will improve its duration.
2. The covers, remove it to load.
When charging the device with certain covers on, it can generate an excess temperature that affects the capacity of the battery. If you notice that your device becomes very hot when charging, remove it from the case. The gel cases are very good for our smartphone to avoid breakage in falls but they are the enemy for our batteries. When you are going to charge it, remove it to refrigerate better.
3. If possible, avoid frequent full discharges as this causes battery stress.
Many discharges and partial charges are better on a lithium ion battery than a more intensive recharge. Recharging a partially charged lithium ion battery does not cause alarm, since there is no memory effect in this type of battery. The short useful life of a battery in a laptop is due more to the heat to which it is subjected than to the charging and discharging patterns. If you can put a base with fans to cool the laptop and mobile, leave it in a cold area of the table, better than in your pocket.
4. One complete download per month.
Although it is a battery without memory effect, it is recommended to deliberately apply a full discharge every 30 charges (per month), with the sole purpose of recalibrating the battery indicator of our mobile. This will ensure better accuracy on the battery gauge. In Android there are applications that perform this recalibration automatically.
5. Battery storage
To extend the life of the battery, if you are going to store it, make sure that it is charged by at least 40% (half charge). And once a month check the load so that it always has a load, since it is bad to leave them at zero. If you are going to keep the device stored for a long time, the general state of the battery will depend on two factors: the ambient temperature and the percentage of charge of the battery at the time of turning it off. The device does not have to be fully downloaded or loaded. Store it with half load. If you store it with the battery completely depleted, it could enter a state of total discharge, making it impossible to recharge it. And if you keep it fully charged for a long time, the battery could lose capacity and therefore autonomy.
6. Initial setup. How to charge new mobile battery for the first time
Just open the box, leave the device charging until the battery is 100% uans 3 hours. No leaving her overnight.
Ideally, your battery should never drop below 20% charge to reduce cell phone stress. Always charge your phone before it reaches the minimum and don't wait until it runs out completely. Although if it runs out, don't worry, nothing will happen.
You can load it when you need it. Another of the tips and rumors that we usually hear is that it is bad to plug in the phone several times a day if we need to have it with battery to the maximum. Nothing happens. You can plug in your smartphone whenever you need it and when it suits you and absolutely nothing will happen. The battery will not be damaged.
Before, if you charged the battery without being completely discharged, you would cause it to break down as crystals were created inside the battery and the total capacity was decreasing. In recent batteries and modern smartphones this does not happen and you can plug it in as many times as necessary without worry.
Finally, the eternal doubt: what happens if I leave it plugged in at night? Nothing. Nothing bad will happen or the phone will explode. The battery of your mobile is not damaged if you spend hours connected and it is already fully charged. Current batteries are self-regulating and stop charging once the capacity is full. Before, this did not happen and phones did suffer damage. Now nothing happens if you are five or six hours more with the battery at 100% because it will have stopped charging.
