WhatsApp will remove the screenshots in the chats
By enabling fingerprint authentication, Whats App no longer
allows 'screenshots'
Whats App prepares a series of changes that could cause
discomfort in many of the. With the next update could be integrated a
restriction that prohibits screen captures in the chats. According to the
WABetaInfo specialized website , the new tool will affect both the chats and
the status updates of your contacts.
However, this feature, present in the beta for Android of
version v.2.19.106 of WhatsApp (already available in the Google PlayStore)
could have some changes. So far is unknown the official date on which will
reach the public of WhatsApp.
The instant messaging service integrates a function so that
users can protect themselves, preventing their contacts from taking screenshots
of status updates or their private chat, WABetaInfo details that it is a security
tool, related to privacy.
By enabling authentication through fingerprint recognition,
users will no longer be able to save or share moments of their conversations
through screenshots, a practice that is very common today. The application will
continue with the option to answer calls when WhatsApp is blocked or respond to
notification messages.
Screenshots have become a form of harassment. Maybe this is
the reason why other platforms, in addition to WhatsApp, have chosen to
prohibit them. Snapchat is another social network that adds to the combat of
screenshots. Instagram, for its part, is already working on a notification
feature to help users identify those who have made a screenshot. Even Facebook
has a built-in security feature called "Privacy Shield" in which
screenshots are not allowed or can generate a warning to the user.
Although WhatsApp has not justified the reasons for its
decision, its intentions are clear, in order to strengthen the user's
confidence in the messaging application, restricting the access of third
parties to potentially sensitive personal information.
Currently, many people on the contact list can take
screenshots of states or chats without any consent to share the information
with another person.
With 1.5 billion active users per month, WhatsApp is the
most popular mobile chat and messaging service in the world. However, the
'app', which has made our lives comfortable by connecting with people from all
over the world like never before, seems to be unsafe. In addition, as a result
of its use, the usual form of communication is changing, either through
traditional telephone calls or through electronic mail. But the technology
company does not want to end it, and that's why it incorporates services such
as calling or video calling.
