These seven applications will allow you to control your mobile from your computer

In mid-May of last year, the popular WhatsApp messaging application finally decided to launch its desktop version; a feature present in Telegram for some time and tremendously demanded by users. And it is not surprising, because using the features of the mobile through the computer the screen is very comfortable.

However, not all apps have their counterparts for PC, Mac or other operating systems; an inconvenience that we can solve with the help of specific tools that allow us to use our preferred device from these larger screens without practically spending battery, taking advantage of the agility offered by the keyboard and others. Today we collected some of the most interesting.

AIRDROID

Thus, Airdroid gives us the possibility of matching the computer and the mobile phone -or tablet, in its absence- in a very simple way. Simply enter your website and scan the QR code that appears on the screen of this first through the terminal camera. It will be from then on when we can carry out a wide range of actions.

Among the most significant, we highlight the ability to manage SMS messages, install or uninstall mobile apps, manage different files, access the image gallery and modify it, play the videos, and view the call history and contact book. Remotely control the camera and take captures of the mobile directly from the PC is other of its most interesting functions.

PUSHBULLET

Very similar to the previous one is Pushbullet, an application that also allows managing the mobile from the computer in a simple way. Specifically, it gives us the possibility to view the screen of our smartphone, access the file browser and browse all the folders of the device (also use them, transfer files, etc.), manage calls and contacts and run other applications and games in the PC.

Noteworthy is the universal copy and paste option, which allows you to carry the clipboard of the last device in which it was copied, to any of those that are authenticated with Pushbullet. The notifications on the desktop or the browser should be emphasized, although its performance may vary depending on the operating system, if you have chosen the extension, and so on .

DESKDOCK

Although it also offers the possibility to control our phone from the PC, the DeskDock approach is somewhat different. What it does is let us use the keyboard and mouse of our computer simultaneously on its screen and on the mobile phone.

It also allows you to copy and paste text between both devices, connect several phones or Android gadgets to the same PC, drag web links from one place to another and even customize the characteristics and the appearance of the mouse pointer. In addition, it is compatible with both Windows and Linux and Mac.

SIDESYNC

Although it can only be used  with Samsung devices from Android 4.0, SideSync will delight users who meet these requirements. The reason? That will allow them to enjoy virtually all the functions of the mobile, with the exception of some such as the camera and the message response of WhatsApp; and full screen.

In addition, it will let them do it through a shared WiFi connection, without the need to place a USB cable between them (although it is possible to do so if preferred). To use it, in addition to the mobile app, you must download the tool on your computer through this link.

ALLCAST

Compatible with Android and iOS, Allcast is also perfect if we want to see photos, videos and other elements directly on the computer but also on television through the Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox 360 and others. A utility that has a simple interface that lets us see the contents of the terminal but does not "manipulate" it.

That is, what it allows is to reproduce the screen on the computer and observe the interactions, but these are done through the phone itself and not from the computer. However, its compatibility with different platforms makes it worthwhile if we want to give it the commented use.

ARC WELDER

Nor could we mention Arc Welder, an extension for Chrome and a kind of web apps that will allow us to load any Android APK into our computer. To install it, we will only have to select a folder in which temporary files will be stored and choose the APK in question.

A utility designed for developers and advanced users in which it is also possible to choose the display and orientation of the screen (vertical or horizontal), if we want to run it in tablet, mobile or full-screen size. Now, it is still in beta so it can give some errors.

VYSOR

To finish, Vysor points in the same direction. A complement to the Google browser, very easy to start, which also has its own app in the Google Play Store since last summer. Something that is appreciated, since, previously, we were forced to install it on our phones through ADB (Android Debug Bridge), something that restricted its use to advanced profiles.

At present, however, the situation is different. In fact and after downloading it on our smartphone, the system will guide us to pair both devices. This can be done through a USB or WiFi. However, the latter - as well as other functions - are limited to the paid version, on the 10 euros per year.
